Ruang Island is a volcanic island in the Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, dominated by the active Mount Ruang volcano.
On April 17, 2024, a major eruption severely damaged two villages, but thanks to a successful evacuation, no casualties occurred.
Currently, the area has been declared safe for visits. Trips to Ruang Island are easily made by boat from Tagulandang in about 20 minutes. Visitors can enjoy dramatic volcanic scenery, coastal views, and clear waters suitable for marine activities and snorkeling, while learning about the island’s volcanic history and resilience.

Tulude is a traditional ceremony of the Tagulandang Island community, held as an expression of gratitude to welcome the new year. It is generally celebrated in January and symbolizes prayers, togetherness, and hopes for safety and prosperity in the year ahead.
Tagulandang nutmeg grows well on tagulandang island and has long been used by the local community, in addition to being used as a cooking spice, nutmeg is known as one of the expensive spices in Europe due to its distinctive aroma and natural warmth.
Tagulandang salak fruit has a sweet and fresh taste with a hint of natural acidity. Grown in the volcanic soil of Tagulandang Island, this salak is known for its crisp flesh and distinctive aroma that many people enjoy.
